Blewett House
903 W. Oak

Built in 1900, the Blewett house at 903 W. Oak is basically Victorian style, but lacks the frills usually associated with that period. The Corinthian columns foreshadowed the coming Colonial Revival, yet the large gables and diamond windows are of Gothic origin. Builder G.H. Blewett, founder of Denton Milling and a local bank executive, provided servants' quarters in the basement. Traded once for land during the Depression, the home's owners have retained the best of the original features.
